Welcome Back!
Welcome back to school! I am very excited about teaching this year!!!!! This is my 15th year of teaching. I taught first grade for two years, fourth grade for one year, and 8th grade for one year. This is my sixth year teaching second grade. I am looking forward to teaching your child. Due to the fact that I have taught first grade it will be beneficial to know exactly what skills my students need to know in second grade, and which skills are necessary for them to be successful in third grade.
I received my undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University with a triple minor in early childhood education, mathematics, and science. I also hold a master’s degree from Wayne State University in special education with a main focus in cognitive impairments. I am continually attending professional development conferences in order to stay on the cutting edge of teaching. This year I will be working towards my National Board Certification.
On a personal note, I have an amazing husband, Tim, we have a 9 year old daughter, Sawyer, who with be in 4th grade at Sanford Creek this year and our son 6 year old son, Beckett, who will be in 1st grade! When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, shopping and traveling.
I look forward to teaching your child this year! Teaching is far from an easy job, but it is extremely rewarding to watch my students learn and grow throughout the year. I can assure you that I absolutely love teaching and will do whatever I can to make this school year the best it can be!!! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. The easiest way of communication is through my school e-mail, [email protected]. I check my e-mail throughout the school day. If you email me after school hours I will get back with you within a day.
Sincerely,
Amanda Blough
